The 2011-2012 Cost vs. Value report prepared by Remodeling Magazine and REALTOR Magazine has just been released, revealing which remodeling projects will return the most at the time of resale. The trend appears to be replacing the old with newer and updated rooms, rather than completely gutting an area and re-doing from scratch.

Some of the more profitable improvements are listed below.

Major Kitchen Remodel                      60.8%

Vinyl Siding Replacement                   67.1%

Wood Deck Addition                          64.5%

Steel Entry Door Replacement            67.1%

Garage Door Replacement                 65.5%

Attic Bedroom                                   66.6%
